About 120 km southwest of Arusha, Tarangire is famed for vast elephant herds and baobab trees. In the dry season the Tarangire River is a lifeline for wildebeest, zebras, gazelles, lions and leopards. A peaceful, less crowded safari in 2,850 km² and a paradise for birdwatchers.
